The Fold: Stay covered. Stay clean. Get something free.

This issue of The Fold is like your Aunt Mae’s annual batch of Chex Mix.

It might be salty. It might be sweet. It might be held together with Tabasco sauce. You just have to dig in and find out.

In this issue:

  • Fiber art show coming up
  • Two more ways to Shop Small
  • An awesome Freebie for quilters ← this one is time sensitive! Scroll down for more info.

Notabene: I am not receiving any compensation for the links in this issue of The Fold.

Two More Top Notch Small Shops

I wanted to tell you about two more small businesses where you can purchase holiday gifts (or something special for yourself). They’re both located in the Oklahoma City area, BUT they both ship!

Sage & Elm Apothecary

My favorite source for plant-based bath and body products. All the ingredients are grown, harvested, and prepared with extra love. My favorites are any of the bath bars and the Work of Art body oil. They make me feel like a queen in my own skin!

Journey Quilt Company

Full disclosure: I worked there for several years, though I’m no longer with the company.

“Can you make me a t-shirt quilt?” Few questions inspire more dread in quilters’ hearts. The good news is You don’t have to say yes. Just send those folks to Journey. When I tell you that no one makes higher quality t-shirt quilts, I know what I’m talking about. Journey uses the best materials and techniques to ensure that your quilt will last a lifetime.

I'm changing how I use social media. Let's connect.

You can find me on my website, Bluesky, Mastodon, Pixelfed, and Cara.

An awesome freebie for quilters!

Do you know Zak Foster? He’s pretty well known in the world of contemporary quilting.

He’s created a wonderful online community called The Nook. I’ve been a member for a few months and I’m finding it welcoming, inclusive, and a refuge from stress. Zak’s offering a really cool deal right now.

You can join The Nook FREE for a MONTH.

That means you’ll get to:

  • Attend a workshop with textile artist Ekta Kaul. For FREE. The workshop is this Friday, 11/22, so hurry!
  • Be part of a wonderful group of quilting folks.
